In this unusual space, a highlight of Czechia, visitors don't just view exhibits but become participants in a gripping performance. The museum harmoniously combines a classic haunted house with an educational project, telling stories of local ghosts and supernatural phenomena characteristic of the Moravia region. A 4.8 rating highlights the high quality of the sets and the atmospheric nature of the venue.

Inside, guests will find dark labyrinths, special effects, and unexpected encounters with the house's "inhabitants." What to Do

The main adventure here is an interactive horror quest, during which you will explore dark halls and hidden rooms. The house is staffed by professional actors whose sudden appearances (jump-scares) make even the bravest visitors jump. The main tour lasts about 30–45 minutes, turning into a full immersion into a paranormal world using sound illusions and visual tricks.

Visitors can interact with themed installations based on Czech legends. Here, you will encounter holograms, mirror traps, and mechanical monsters. For content lovers, there are special selfie zones where you can snap a striking shot with a "ghost." After completing the challenge, be sure to stop by the souvenir shop to buy original masks or museum-branded merch as a keepsake.

Getting There

Finding this interactive museum is easy, as it is located at Komenského 4. If you are already walking in the city center, the stroll from the main square, Horní náměstí, will take only about 15–20 minutes at a leisurely pace in a northeastern direction.

For those who prefer public transport, trams No. 3, 4, 6, 7, or 8 are excellent options. You should get off at the Dvůr Králové or Slunáčkova stop, from which it is literally a 5–10 minute walk. If you are arriving by train at the main station Olomouc hl.n., the walk to the site will take about 25 minutes, but you can always hop on a tram to save your energy for the challenge inside the house.

Drivers should keep in mind that parking directly at the entrance is limited. It is better to leave your car in paid parking zones near the city stadium or in the center. From major cities like Brno or Ostrava, the trip by taxi or private car takes between an hour and an hour and a half via the D1/E462 highways.

History & Facts

Although the "Haunted House" is a modern interactive attraction, it is deeply connected to the city's ancient past. The building on Komenského street itself is situated in a historical district where every stone is steeped in centuries of history. Olomouc is famous for its legends, and the museum's creators have skillfully woven them into the concept of the exhibits.

Many of the frightening scenes are based on Moravian legends dating back to the 12th century. The authors drew inspiration from real folklore, including mystical stories associated with Zdík's Palace and the majestic Saint Wenceslaus Cathedral. It is believed that spirits of the past still wander within the city's Gothic walls, and the museum gives them a chance to "come alive" for visitors.

Integrating 600 years of regional history into a haunted house format makes this place unique. It is not just a room of terror, but an attempt to visualize the dark Baroque and Gothic aesthetics that this region is so rich in. A visit to the museum allows you to view historical heritage through the lens of mysticism and local ghost stories.

Time Needed

To fully immerse yourself in the mystical atmosphere and go through all the interactive zones, you will typically need about 45–60 minutes. This time includes the main tour through the mysterious corridors accompanied by special effects and actors.

If you also plan to take souvenir photos in the special zones, browse the gift shop, or if there is a short queue at the entrance, it is better to allow 1.5–2 hours for your visit. This buffer is more than enough to catch your breath after the scares and discuss your impressions with friends.

Working Hours

The museum is open primarily in the afternoon and on weekends, making it an excellent option for evening leisure. The schedule is as follows: Wednesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Friday from 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM. On Saturday, the doors are open from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM (with short breaks), and on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Monday and Tuesday are usually closing days.

Please note that opening hours may change on public holidays, so it is recommended to check the official website for up-to-date information before your trip.
