This project, created by the Burkovsky spouses in 2011, has become one of the most prominent attractions that Russia takes pride in. Every hall here tells a different story: from a seamstress's cozy attic to a mysterious alchemist's study. The eclectic design, featuring bright stained glass and chandeliers from old Siberian estates, creates a unique "dollhouse" atmosphere where every exhibit has its own legend.

PuppenHaus is not just a place to eat, but a true art object recognized with high international awards, including the golden "Palm Branch." Here, modern Siberian cuisine meets European traditions, turning an ordinary dinner into an exciting theatrical performance surrounded by puppets and works of art.

What to Do

The main reason people visit PuppenHaus is to participate in a gastronomic performance. The menu here is designed like a theater program, and the serving of dishes turns into a show. Be sure to try the Siberian delicacies: bear meat kebab, muksun fillet, or the famous triple fish soup (ukha). As a complement, it is worth ordering the signature taiga herb and berry infusions, which reveal the flavors of northern ingredients.

Make sure to set aside time for a tour of the halls. You can move freely between the floors, exploring unique collections. Discover a wealthy merchant's kitchen with antique meat grinders, visit the art salon with Impressionist paintings, and don't miss the marionette theater on the second floor. Many of the dolls here are interactive, and the interior details—ranging from a 19th-century clavichord to Viennese stained glass—can be admired for hours.

In the summertime, enjoy the open veranda designed in the style of Viennese houses, or climb up to the "Captain's Cabin." The restaurant is ideal for a romantic date or a family celebration, where the visual pleasure of the Gaudí-style decor is complemented by fresh seafood from the aquarium and an atmosphere of total immersion in the world of art.

Getting There

If you prefer public transport, any buses or minibuses (marshrutkas) going to the "Krasny Prospekt" or "Chaplygina St" stops will work. History & Facts

The history of PuppenHaus began on February 14, 2011, when renowned restaurateurs Vladimir and Anzhelika Burkovsky opened the first true gastronomic theater in Russia. The idea for the establishment had been maturing for several years: the owners personally curated a unique collection of antique dolls and interior items from flea markets and auctions across Europe.

The restaurant building is an art object in its own right, built according to the canons of the great architects Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Antoni Gaudí. The interior is filled with fairytale eclecticism, and many of the dolls and marionettes were created specifically for this place by the famous Tomsk craftsman Vladimir Zakharov. Significant funds were invested in the interior design and high-tech kitchen equipment to ensure guests receive world-class service.

Almost immediately after its opening, the restaurant gained international recognition. Its accolades include the prestigious golden "Palm Branch" for the best restaurant concept, awards from the International Kremlin Culinary Cup, and diplomas from the "Russian Gastronomic Seasons" in Monte Carlo. The establishment has become a symbol of modern Siberian cuisine, where local ingredients are harmoniously combined with high European aesthetics.

Time Needed

Given the concept of a gastronomic theater, a visit to PuppenHaus should not be rushed. To fully enjoy the atmosphere, examine the rich museum collection across all four floors, and appreciate the chef's skill, it is recommended to set aside 2–3 hours for your visit.

This time will be sufficient for a leisurely tour of the themed rooms—from the "Merchant's Kitchen" to the "Captain's Cabin"—and a full lunch or dinner. If you plan to visit the restaurant with a large group or order a tasting set, it is better to plan for half a day so that the evening turns into a true cultural event.
