The Gothenburg East Indiaman (Ostindiefararen Götheborg) is a majestic museum ship, a full-scale replica of an 18th-century merchant sailing vessel. Located in the harbor that graces Gothenburg, it is one of Europe's most impressive maritime attractions.

The ship was recreated using drawings of the original Swedish East India Company vessel and traditional materials: oak, pine, hemp ropes, and hand-forged ironwork. This ambitious project brought to life the maritime heritage that Sweden is proud of, creating a vessel capable of actual ocean voyages.
For visitors, it is more than just a static exhibit; it is a functioning seafaring vessel. Stepping on board, you can feel the atmosphere of the Age of Discovery, learn about the daily lives of sailors, and hear about ambitious trade missions to distant China.
