About

Hisingen Arena, widely known as Bravida Arena, is a modern and atmospheric football stadium located in the city of Gothenburg. As the home ground for BK Häcken, the arena has become an important sports hub in Sweden. It is famous for its compactness and exceptional visibility of the field, as it was built without running tracks, allowing spectators to be as involved in the game as possible.

The stadium accommodates about 6,300–6,500 people and is equipped with high-quality natural turf that meets all the requirements of the top Swedish league, Allsvenskan. Interestingly, this was the first "turnkey" project in the country, ensuring high functionality and modern design in every element of the infrastructure.

The facility is managed by the municipal company "Higab" and operated by "GotEvent." Located on the picturesque island of Hisingen, the arena attracts not only football fans but also those who appreciate modern urban architecture and comfortable conditions for active recreation.

What to Do

The main highlight of visiting Bravida Arena is undoubtedly live football. Here you can watch matches of the decorated BK Häcken club and feel the incredible energy of the stands. Thanks to excellent acoustics, the fans' support sounds particularly powerful here, creating a unique sporting atmosphere.

During halftime, spectators are offered a wide selection of Swedish fast food: from traditional hot dogs to fresh beer and snacks in cozy food courts. For those who prefer increased comfort, the stadium provides special VIP zones. The arena's compactness allows you to see every movement of the players on the field, making a visit interesting even for those just starting to get into football.

Besides sports competitions, the stadium occasionally hosts concerts and corporate events. After the event, you can take a pleasant walk around the Hisingen island area, famous for its green spaces and proximity to the water, making it a great end to an eventful day.

Getting There

Getting to the stadium, located at Inlandsgatan 48, is easy thanks to the city's well-developed transport system. The most popular way is to take tram No. 3 or 9 from the center. The trip takes about 15–20 minutes; you should get off at the "Hisingen" stop.

Regular city buses also run to Bravida Arena. If you prefer comfort, you can order a taxi from the city center — it will take very little time. For those traveling by car, the route passes across the E6 bridge, and paid parking is available next to the facility during events.

If you are arriving from Landvetter International Airport, first take a bus or train to the central station and then transfer to a tram. Thanks to the developed network of bike paths, it is also pleasant to reach the arena by bicycle, enjoying the views of the island.

History & Facts

The history of Hisingen Arena began in 2014, when the authorities decided to demolish the old Rambergsvallen stadium, which had served the city since 1953. Construction of the new modern complex began in April of that year and proceeded at record speed to provide the local club BK Häcken with a worthy home ground.

The official opening took place on July 5, 2015. In the debut match on the new field, BK Häcken faced Helsingborg and won 3:2. This event attracted more than 6,000 spectators and marked the beginning of a new era in the district's sporting life. The arena's name was determined by a sponsorship agreement with the company Bravida, which successfully funded the project.

Today, this facility symbolizes the modernization of the country's football infrastructure. The stadium was built as a "turnkey" project and fully complies with strict UEFA standards. This makes it one of the most technologically advanced and convenient arenas in the region, combining commercial efficiency with the deep attachment of local fans to their team.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy the match atmosphere at Bravida Arena, it is recommended to set aside about 2–3 hours for your visit. This time will be enough to calmly pass through the turnstiles, find your seat in the stands, check out the food area, and watch the game itself.

If you plan to visit the stadium with a tour (on days when they are held), such an event usually takes about 1 hour. On non-match days, viewing the stadium's facades and walking through the adjacent territory of Hisingen island will take no more than 30–40 minutes.

Working Hours

The opening hours of Bravida Arena depend directly on the schedule of planned events, whether football matches or cultural events. Typically, the gates open for visitors 1–2 hours before the start of the game and close an hour after the final whistle.

Since no fixed visiting hours are set for tourist sightseeing outside of matches, it is recommended to check the official website gotevent.se in advance. Up-to-date information on upcoming events and the exact time of access to the stadium grounds is always published there.
