Guests are offered 39 luxurious suites, and the restaurant and bar offer inspiring sea views.

The main focus here is on a holistic approach to relaxation. The salt-scented air, fresh sea breeze, and professional spa treatments create the perfect environment for rejuvenation. History & Facts

The historical roots of Varberg Kusthotell date back to the 19th century, when the city began to earn its reputation as a popular Swedish resort. It all started with the use of the Svartekällan natural spring, whose healing waters attracted the first holidaymakers. Over time, balneological complexes began to appear on the coast, laying the foundation for modern traditions of maritime wellness.

A significant turning point in the site's history occurred in 1902 when city physician Johan Severin Almer founded a sanatorium here for treating children. He used innovative therapy methods for the time, based on exposure to the sun, clean sea air, and saltwater baths. By 1927, the establishment had grown into the largest sanatorium in Scandinavia, becoming almost an autonomous town with its own school and farm.

In the late 1980s, the site faced total demolition, but thanks to the efforts of local authorities and the Contekton Arkitekter bureau project, the historic buildings were given a second life. In 1991, a modern spa hotel opened here, carefully preserving the atmosphere of the past while offering guests relaxation in interiors that remember a century of health care history.

To fully experience the atmosphere of relaxation and restore your strength, it is recommended to set aside 1 to 3 days for a visit to Varberg Kusthotell. This is enough time to undergo a course of spa treatments, enjoy walks by the sea, and appreciate the local cuisine without rushing.
