What to Do

The main reason tourists come here is, undoubtedly, a gastronomic journey. In the fine dining restaurant, you will be offered a tasting menu based on seasonal local products. It is a true theater of taste, where each dish tells the story of the region. Don't miss the opportunity to try their famous bread from their own bakery, served with special butter.

Wine lovers should definitely book a wine cellar tour. It is a real treasury where thousands of bottles are stored, including rare vintages. Sommeliers will gladly guide you through the labyrinths of shelves and tell fascinating stories about the most valuable items in the collection.

After dinner, go up to PM Bar, located on the hotel roof. From here, a beautiful view of the city opens up, and the atmosphere encourages relaxation with a cocktail in hand. In the warm season, an open terrace and a pool operate here, available for hotel guests, adding a touch of luxury to your stay.

Getting There

Getting to "PM & Vänner" is quite simple, as the establishment is located in the very heart of the city. The exact address is: Västergatan 10. Thanks to its central location, the restaurant and hotel are within walking distance of most key points in the city.

If you arrive in the city by train or bus, you won't even need a taxi. Växjö Railway Station (Växjö Station) is just a 5-7 minute walk from the hotel entrance. You just need to walk through the central streets, enjoying the city's architecture.

For those traveling by car, there are parking spaces in the city center, however, it is recommended to check for parking availability directly at the hotel when booking a room. A taxi from Växjö-Småland Airport (VXO) will take about 15-20 minutes.

History & Facts

The history of "PM & Vänner" began in 1992 when two friends, Per Bengtsson and Monica Carlsson, decided to open a small establishment. Since then, it has evolved from a humble restaurant into a world-class gastronomic hotel. The founders set themselves an ambitious goal — to rethink the culinary traditions of the Småland region, using the concept of "forest, lake, and meadow".

One of the establishment's main prides is its wine cellar. The wine collection has been gathered for decades and today counts thousands of labels. This cellar has repeatedly received the prestigious Grand Award from the authoritative publication Wine Spectator, placing it on par with the best wine collections in the world.

The architectural aspect is also interesting: the interior design and the hotel building itself were developed by the famous Swedish architect Jonas Lindvall. He masterfully combined Scandinavian minimalism with the use of local materials, such as limestone from the island of Öland and oak wood from the forests of Småland, emphasizing the inseparable connection of the place with the surrounding nature.

The time needed to visit "PM & Vänner" depends on the format of your visit. If you plan only dinner at the fine dining restaurant, count on spending 3 to 4 hours here. Tasting sets require leisureliness so that you can enjoy every dish and wine pairing.
