Two periods stand out clearly in the city's weather calendar. The rainy season here is very long and intense: from May to October, precipitation falls almost daily, peaking in September and October, when the number of rainy days can reach 29 per month. This time gives nature a special mystical atmosphere but requires appropriate gear from travelers.

For a classic beach holiday and sea excursions, the dry season is best, lasting from December to March. January and February are considered the sunniest and driest months, when the chance of rain is minimal. It is during this period that the sea is calmest, and the weather favors long walks and exploring sights under a clear sky.

The climate in Ranong is distinguished by enviable stability: it is warm here year-round, and sharp temperature spikes practically never occur. March and April are traditionally considered the hottest months, when the average air temperature rises to 28.1°C, and daytime highs can exceed 31°C. At this time, the sun warms most intensely, creating an atmosphere of true tropical heat before the onset of the monsoons.

The winter period in this region of Thailand is quite nominal and rather resembles a pleasant, mild summer. Nights at this time bring light freshness with minimum temperatures around 23.4°C, making this period ideal for travelers who do not tolerate extreme heat well.

Precipitation here falls exclusively in the form of warm tropical downpours, which can be both short and intense, or prolonged.

Transitional periods, such as April and November, are characterized by changeable weather. The number of rainy days increases to 19–22, but the sun still often delights tourists. Travelers heading to Ranong in the "green season" (from May to October) should definitely take raincoats with them, however, it is at this time that local waterfalls become the most full-flowing and picturesque.

Given the warm tropical climate of Ranong, the basis of your luggage should be light clothing made from natural breathable fabrics, such as cotton or linen. Since the air temperature here stays in a comfortable range from +23°C to +31°C year-round, you will not need warm jackets. Give preference to T-shirts, shorts, and loose dresses. Be sure to bring reliable sun protection: a wide-brimmed hat, high-quality sunglasses, and high SPF cream, as ultraviolet radiation is active here even through clouds.
