The project was entrusted to French and Italian engineers, and the construction of the elegant brick tower was completed in 1907. Initially, the income from the elevator's operation went to the needs of the Karataş Jewish Hospital. In 1942, after the death of the founder, "Asansör" was donated to the Izmir municipality. Thanks to this, it still serves all residents and guests of the city free of charge today, remaining a living monument to generosity and care for people.
