Imagine an elegant bronze door, thrown wide open towards the endless sea horizon. This is the "Gate of the Sun" — a modern sculptural landmark that has become one of the most recognizable symbols of the city of Odessa. Located on the pier of the popular "Langeron" beach, this work organically complements the marine landscape, inviting every visitor to Ukraine to touch a piece of contemporary art.

The creator of this poetic object is the famous Odessa sculptor Mikhail Reva. Installed in 2017, the "Gate" carries a deep meaning of hospitality and warmth. On the sculpture's threshold, you can see the Latin word "Salve", which translates to "hello" or "welcome." This is not just an art object, but a metaphorical entrance to the city through which the sun enters Odessa every morning.
The sculpture is made of bronze and detailedly recreates the look of an old door that once actually existed in the city's architecture. Thanks to its location and unusual concept, this spot attracts photographers, romantics, and all those seeking inspiration by the sea.
