Specially designed for comfortable family vacations, the park offers an ideal blend of active fun and relaxation. Guests will find thrilling slides, spacious pools, and interactive play areas where water flows in every sense of the word. Thanks to expert management by the city authorities, the park maintains affordable prices and high safety standards.

The main feature of Aqua Adventure is its versatility: while thrill-seekers conquer 40-foot drops, those who prefer peace and quiet can drift steadily down the winding river. It's a place where everyone can find their own way to beat the heat and recharge with positive energy.

What to Do

There’s no chance of getting bored at Aqua Adventure Waterpark. Adventure seekers can test themselves on four water slides reaching the height of a four-story building — two are open-air, allowing you to enjoy the views during the descent, and two are enclosed for those who love surprises. After your active descents, it's nice to recharge on the 200-foot-long "Lazy River", where you can simply go with the flow on a rented inner tube.

For families with children, the main attraction is the massive splash park with its numerous water jets, fountains, and the famous giant bucket that suddenly tips hundreds of gallons of water over guests. Little ones will love the special climbing structures and shallow areas, while adults can spend time in the Oasis Pool — a full-sized 25-meter pool with lanes for comfortable swimming.

Beyond standard activities, the park offers interesting programs: from swimming lessons to special "Family Fridays" with discounts. The grounds are also equipped with shaded areas and cafes where you can grab a bite, turning a simple trip to the pool into a full-day water picnic.

Getting There

Getting to the waterpark, located at 40500 Paseo Padre Pkwy, is very convenient for travelers. If you're planning to drive, look for highways I-880 or I-680, which lead toward the city center. On-site parking is available, but it fills up quickly on hot weekends, so experienced visitors recommend arriving right at opening time.

For those choosing public transport, the fastest way is to take the BART train system to the Fremont station. From the station to the park entrance, you can take a local bus or a 10–15 minute taxi ride. Rideshare services like Uber or Lyft are also very active in the area.

If you're staying nearby, it's a pleasant walk or bike ride to the park via the scenic paths around Lake Elizabeth. The nearest major airport, SFO, is about a 40-minute drive away, making the location accessible even for short-term visitors to the region.

History & Facts

Did you know that life was quite different on the site of today's slides? Until 2001, it was home to the old Puerto Penasco Swim Lagoon, which served as the hub of water fun for locals for 32 years. Over time, as technology advanced, the City Council decided to transform this historic spot into a modern family complex.

The transformation process took several years, and in May 2009, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend, Aqua Adventure Waterpark officially opened its doors. The project was designed with a focus on family vacations: the park's layout was optimized so parents could easily keep an eye on their children while maintaining a cozy and intimate atmosphere.

Interestingly, safety was built into the very construction concept. Former park manager Annabelle Holland emphasized that the maximum water depth throughout the entire complex is only 4 feet (1.2 meters). This makes the park an ideal place for swimming lessons and a safe experience even for those who don't feel very confident in the water.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy the atmosphere and try out all the attractions, most visitors need 3 to 5 hours. This is plenty of time to go down the popular slides a few times, take a leisurely float down the "Lazy River," and take a lunch break in one of the relaxation zones.

If you're planning a visit with small children who are happy playing in the dedicated splash park, you might only need 2–3 hours. However, keep in mind that on hot summer weekends, wait times at the entrance and for the slides can increase, so the ideal option is to set aside a half-day for your visit.

Working Hours

When planning your trip, it's important to consider the park's seasonal schedule. In 2026, Aqua Adventure is open to visitors according to the following schedule:

Monday: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM; Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are closed. Please note that the main summer season (with daily access) typically runs from late May through August, so it's recommended to check the current operating status on the official website before traveling on weekdays.
