The construction of the resort was a project of truly grand proportions. Planning began in 1957, and work started just a year later. It was not just about building hotels along the coast, but a comprehensive development of the territory. To transform the coastal zone into a blooming oasis, more than 550,000 cubic meters of fertile soil were brought here. This Herculean effort became the foundation for the resort's future green appearance.

One of the unique features of the original plan was the creation of not just a resort zone, but a full-fledged forest park. As part of this project, an impressive number of plants were planted: about 300,000 coniferous and deciduous trees, more than 770,000 ornamental shrubs, and, of course, the symbol of Bulgaria—roses, of which about 100,000 bushes appeared here. It is thanks to this well-thought-out concept from the very beginning that Sunny Beach is still famous today for its parks and green atmosphere, standing out from many other seaside resorts.
