The Karagöz Museum (Karagöz ve Hacivat Müzesi) in Bursa is a unique cultural institution, being the first and only museum in Turkey entirely dedicated to the traditional Turkish shadow theater of Karagöz. It is no coincidence that Bursa became the home of this museum, as the city is considered the birthplace of the main characters of this original art form—Karagöz and Hacivat.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of shadow theater, learn about its rich history and performance techniques, and see an impressive collection of artifacts. The exhibition includes not only traditional Turkish puppets but also puppet characters from other countries, such as Russia's Petrushka, a Russian princess, and Uzbek puppets, highlighting the international significance of this art form.
The museum's design creates a special atmosphere: the dark background and special lighting highlight each puppet, evoking a sense of fairy tales and magic. The Karagöz Museum is rightfully among the official museums of Bursa, holding an important place alongside other cultural landmarks like the Bursa City Museum and the Merinos Energy Museum.
