Like a natural sentinel rising above the Black Sea, Cape Galata is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city of Varna. This picturesque headland on the northeastern Avren Plateau in Bulgaria combines the rugged beauty of rocky shores, dense deciduous forests, and a rich history of maritime navigation.

The name of this place is shrouded in myth: according to ancient legend, it is associated with the beautiful nymph Galatea, whose story of love and rivalry with the cyclops Polyphemus has inspired poets for centuries. Today, the cape is primarily known for its unique panoramic platform, offering breathtaking views of the entire city and Varna Bay.
A key feature of the location is the complex of lighthouses. The first was lit here back in 1863, becoming a vital landmark for ships. The modern 22-meter active lighthouse continues the traditions of its predecessors, ensuring maritime safety in these waters and giving the coast a special romantic charm.
