You can travel to Gaomi in various ways: thanks to the region's well-developed infrastructure, it's easily accessible by train, bus, car, or via the nearby air hubs of neighboring metropolises.

Since Gaomi itself does not have its own civil airport, travelers typically choose flights to neighboring major air hubs. The most convenient option is a flight to the international airports in Qingdao or Weifang, both of which are located less than 70 kilometers from the city and are well-connected to it by ground transport.

You can also consider the airport in Rizhao, though it is slightly further away—about 109 kilometers. All these gateways handle numerous domestic flights from across China, and Qingdao Airport also serves international destinations, making the journey to the region as simple as possible.

The journey from Rizhao will take a bit longer, but China's modern expressways ensure a high level of comfort on the road. Intercity buses usually arrive at central stations, where you can easily transfer to local transport or a taxi to continue exploring the city.

Traveling by car or taxi to Gaomi is a great opportunity to see the industrial and rural landscapes of eastern China at your own pace. The fastest way is from Weifang: the roughly 77 km route takes about 1 hour 10 minutes on a comfortable highway.

From Qingdao, the drive is about 107 km, which will take approximately one and a half hours. If you decide to set out from Rizhao, be prepared to spend a little over two hours in the car, covering a distance of 185 km. Taxi prices in this region remain quite reasonable, especially when booking through popular local apps.
