What to Do

At Bamberg Arena, every visitor will find something to enjoy. The main highlight is undoubtedly the home games of the Brose Bamberg basketball club. The live energy of the stands, the players' skill, and the thrilling atmosphere make attending a game an unforgettable experience, even for those who rarely follow sports.

Beyond sports, the arena serves as a venue for world music tours, theatrical productions, and exhibitions. Throughout the year, it hosts more than 150 events—ranging from intimate conferences to grand gala concerts. For guests' convenience, cozy buffets in the ground floor foyer offer a variety of food and drinks during breaks.

For business travelers and congress participants, the arena offers modern halls and meeting areas. Interestingly, at the end of each semester, the building transforms into a huge auditorium: the University of Bamberg uses its space to conduct exams. Thus, the complex remains vibrant and in demand almost every day of the year.

Getting There

The complex is conveniently located at Forchheimer Str. 15, making it easy to reach by both private and public transport. The arena is just 3.4 kilometers from the city's main railway station. A taxi or car ride from the city center usually takes about 7–10 minutes.

For those who prefer public transport, there are regular bus routes connecting the arena with key districts. Its proximity to major road junctions makes the venue easily accessible for travelers arriving from other regions.

One of the main advantages for drivers is the large number of parking spaces directly in front of the building. This significantly simplifies attending popular events, eliminating the need for long searches for parking in the surrounding area.

History & Facts

The history of this modern complex began in 2001 when it was officially opened under the name Forum Bamberg. From its inception, the venue was envisioned as a magnet for sporting and cultural events in the region, quickly gaining popularity among residents and visitors alike.

In March 2006, the naming rights were transferred to the company JAKO, followed by a significant renovation costing six million euros. This expansion allowed for an increase in the arena's capacity for basketball games from 4,750 to over 6,800 seats, elevating the venue to a new level of comfort and importance.

The venue received its current name, Brose Arena, in October 2013, in honor of a major automotive supplier. That same year, the arena underwent extensive technical modernization: acoustics were significantly improved, a modern LED video system was installed, and the network infrastructure was completely updated, making every show even more spectacular.

In 2016, the complex's technical equipment was updated again to meet strict EuroLeague standards. Specifically, 720 seats were replaced, confirming the arena's status as one of the most advanced sporting venues in Bavaria.
