The museum building itself is a work of art. Designed by the famous architectural firm Nikken Sekkei (the creators of the famous Tokyo Skytree), it features a modern and unusual design. Futuristic shapes and the thoughtful use of space create the perfect atmosphere for contemplating painted masterpieces.
The core of the exhibition is the private collection of Masao Hoki, a prominent Japanese businessman. Currently, the museum's holdings include approximately 500 works of art created by about 60 artists. The permanent exhibition features around 120 works housed in spacious galleries totaling about 500 meters in length. These galleries span the upper floor and two underground levels, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the skill of realist artists.
