The park gained special fame for its numerous cherry trees. In spring, during the cherry blossom season, this place turns into one of the best destinations for hanami—the traditional Japanese custom of flower viewing. Thousands of visitors come here to enjoy the breathtaking sight of pale pink petals and have a picnic under the shade of the blooming trees.
An integral part of the park area is the famous Omiya Bonsai Park, founded back in 1925. It houses an impressive collection of hundreds of miniature trees, many of which are over a hundred years old. Visitors can see various styles and types of bonsai, from classic pines and maples to graceful blooming sakuras. This place is imbued with an atmosphere of peace and serenity, allowing guests to fully appreciate the ancient art and harmony of nature.
