The Takamatsu Red Lighthouse, known among locals as Setoshirube, is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the city of Takamatsu. This site in Japan became famous as the world's first lighthouse made entirely of glass. Standing 14.2 meters tall, the structure crowns a long 540-meter breakwater that extends deep into the waters of the Seto Inland Sea.

The lighthouse serves an important navigational role, and its nickname translates to "Guide to Seto." Thanks to its unique construction and vibrant crimson color, Setoshirube has become a symbol of the modern port in Kagawa Prefecture. It looks particularly striking in the evening and at night, when the glass blocks begin to emit a soft glow, earning the site recognition as one of "Japan's Three Great Night Lighthouses."
Located in the lively Sunport district, the lighthouse offers guests stunning panoramic views of the strait and passing vessels. It is not just a technical facility, but a true marvel of modern architecture, attracting both maritime enthusiasts and connoisseurs of unusual design from all over the world.
