History & Facts

The history of the site where BHouse stands today dates back to 1784. It was then that the Reinecke family of merchants founded the Švyturys brewery in the city of Memel (now Klaipėda). A sea eagle became the company's symbol, highlighting the brewery's close connection to the region's maritime traditions. Over the centuries, the brewery has survived mergers, destruction, and periods of prosperity, consistently remaining a symbol of Lithuanian brewing.

By the 19th century, local beer was already winning gold medals at international exhibitions, and during the interwar period, varieties like Audit and Caramel were considered standards of quality. Despite sustaining serious damage during World War II, production was quickly restored, and in the 1960s, the legendary Baltijos variety was created, which remains a public favorite to this day.

BHouse is the latest chapter in the history of this legendary plant. Opened as a modern gastropub within the renovated brewery, it is designed to showcase the continuity of tradition. Here, Klaipėda's industrial heritage meets cutting-edge technology, turning the brewing process into a captivating show for the guests.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy the atmosphere of this place, we recommend setting aside 2 to 3 hours for your visit. This is plenty of time to leisurely explore the interior, peer through the glass partition into the brewing halls, and, of course, try several items from the menu paired with signature drinks.

If your visit coincides with a live concert or a tasting evening, you could easily spend the entire evening at BHouse. The venue is perfect for long conversations and relaxed downtime surrounded by professionals who love their craft.
