The climate of Peshawar can be described as semi-arid, with distinct seasonal divisions. This region of Pakistan typically experiences very hot, long summers and mild, relatively short winters. Overall, the weather is favourable for travel during most of the year; however, the significant temperature difference between seasons should be considered when planning your wardrobe.

The summer months, particularly June, bring intense heat with average highs around 39°C. In July and August, temperatures remain high, but the weather pattern changes: the number of cloudy and humid days increases significantly. This is the period when the influence of the monsoon season becomes most noticeable, bringing up to 18 days of rainfall per month.

Winter and the transitional seasons offer far more comfortable conditions. From November to March, temperatures become pleasant for long walks, although nights in January can be chilly, with temperatures dropping to 4-5°C. Spring and autumn in Peshawar are the "golden mean" with moderate warmth and clear skies, making these periods ideal for tourism.

The climate of Peshawar is characterized by pronounced seasonality with a noticeable contrast between hot summers and cool winters. The hottest period of the year is June, when the average maximum temperature reaches 38.9°C, creating truly sweltering conditions. A trip to Peshawar requires a careful approach to your wardrobe due to significant temperature fluctuations throughout the year. In summer, especially in June when the air warms up to almost 39°C, you will need maximally light, loose, and breathable clothing made from natural fabrics such as cotton or linen. In July and August, despite the heat, a large number of rainy days are observed (up to 18 per month), so it is worth prioritising items that dry quickly and ensure comfort in high humidity.

The winter months, from December to February, bring noticeable coolness: night-time temperatures can drop to +4°C, although days remain relatively mild and sunny. For a trip at this time of year, the principle of layering is ideal: be sure to take warm jumpers, thick trousers, and a demi-season jacket or coat to easily adapt to temperature changes between day and evening. Spring and autumn in this region of Pakistan delight with comfortable weather, but a light windbreaker for evening walks will still not go amiss.
