The Oktyabrsky Bridge is a majestic engineering structure and one of the main landmarks that Cherepovets is rightfully proud of. Spanning the wide Sheksna River, this bridge was the first cable-stayed bridge in the RSFSR, opening a new chapter in domestic bridge building. Its elegant silhouette with a tall A-shaped pylon gives this industrial city in Russia a special, almost European charm.

The bridge's design is impressive in its scale: the pylon height reaches 83 meters, and the total length of the structure is over 700 meters. The Oktyabrsky Bridge is not just a transport artery connecting city districts, but a true symbol of progress. Its design harmoniously blends technology and tradition: the parapets are decorated with bas-reliefs featuring patterns of the famous Vologda lace and the coats of arms of 15 cities in the region.
Interestingly, archaeologists discovered the remains of an ancient Slavic settlement in the immediate vicinity of the bridge, adding deep historical significance to the site. Today, the Oktyabrsky Bridge is invariably depicted on souvenir products, remaining the most recognizable and photographed object in the region.
