Tver State University Botanical Garden is a picturesque green oasis stretching along the banks of the Tvertsa River. As one of the oldest botanical gardens in the northwest of a country like Russia, it is rightfully considered the pride of Tver. Spanning 2.6 hectares, the garden harmoniously combines the functions of a scientific center and a cozy urban park.

The site of the garden holds unique value: it is an archaeological monument located within the territory of the ancient Zavolzhsky Posad of the 13th–18th centuries. Today, it houses an impressive collection, including about 350 species of trees and shrubs, as well as over 2,000 herbaceous plants distributed across eight thematic displays.
Visitors are drawn not only by the richness of the flora but also by the special historical atmosphere. It is a true open-air museum where you can see rare natural specimens and enjoy landscape design that preserves the features of an old Russian estate.
