Park Dinozavrov Tayny Mira

About

Imagine that time has turned back, and you've found yourself in an era when giant reptiles ruled the Earth. "Secrets of the World" Dinosaur Park is the first large-scale thematic project in the city of Yaroslavl, which opened in the summer of 2018. Located in the cozy Children's Park, it invites residents and guests of Russia to take an exciting journey millions of years into the past.

Across the park's grounds, more than 60 animated figures of prehistoric lizards, made to full size, "come to life." Here you can meet 20 species of ancient inhabitants: from the armored Ankylosaurus to the fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex. Thanks to motion sensors, the exhibits begin to move and let out realistic roars as soon as visitors approach them, creating an incredible sense of presence.

The park's atmosphere is thought out to the smallest detail: artificial palm trees, smoking volcanoes, and stylized decorations transport guests to the Mesozoic world. This is not just an exhibition of figures, but a complete family recreation area where the educational component is harmoniously combined with active entertainment and outdoor creative workshops.

What to Do

The main adventure in the park begins on the "Dinosaur Trail." As you walk along it, you will see how the giant lizards react to your presence: they turn their heads, move their tails, and greet guests with a formidable roar. Next to each exhibit, there are information signs revealing fascinating facts about the lives of these creatures. For those who want to learn more, free guided tours are held every half hour on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends.

Young explorers can try their hand as real scientists in the archaeological dig zone. In a special tent, children search for "fossilized" bones of ancient giants hidden in the sand. In addition, the park features a paleontological museum with skeletons and an interactive area with exciting drawing workshops and games with animators.

For those looking for extra excitement, there are paid activities: you can ride on the back of a moving dinosaur, jump on trampolines, shoot at a shooting range, or test your wits in a labyrinth. The entire complex is designed to make the immersion into the prehistoric era as complete as possible—from walking past erupting volcanoes to relaxing on benches in the shade of exotic (albeit artificial) plants.

Getting There

The park is located in the heart of the city of Yaroslavl, within the Children's Park on Prospekt Lenina. It is easy to find on the right bank of the Volga: look for the central alley, where bright gates in the shape of a giant dinosaur mouth will point the way to the prehistoric world.

You can reach the location by any public transport passing through the city center. Stops are within a few minutes' walk from the entrance. If you prefer comfort, a taxi ride from the city's main squares will take only 5–10 minutes.

For travelers arriving by plane, the journey from Tunoshna Airport is about 30 kilometers. A car trip via the R-600 highway and Prospekt Frunze will take approximately one hour. Parking areas for private vehicles are available near the Children's Park.

History & Facts

"Secrets of the World" Dinosaur Park is a relatively young project, but it has already become a landmark for the city. The grand opening took place on July 7, 2018. The creation of this venue was part of a large-scale program to reconstruct urban recreation areas and was timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of Family, Love, and Fidelity.

The initiative to create this themed space arose in early 2018 and received active support from the mayor's office and private investors. On opening day, the park welcomed more than 500 first visitors, who were able to see the result of transforming an ordinary park area into an interactive educational platform.

This project became the first permanent dinopark in Yaroslavl. The creators' main goal was not just entertainment, but the popularization of paleontology among children and young people. This is why so much attention was paid to detail: from the appearance of the lizards to the informational content of the exhibits.

Time Needed

To see all the exhibits at a leisurely pace and enjoy the atmosphere of the Mesozoic era, tourists are recommended to set aside 2 to 3 hours for their visit. This time is quite sufficient to walk the main trail, listen to a tour, and participate in interactive programs.

If you are planning a trip with children, it is worth allowing extra time for the paleontological sandbox "digs," workshops, and the attractions on the park's main alley, which often become the favorite part of the program for little explorers.

Working Hours

"Secrets of the World" Dinosaur Park is hospitably open to visitors year-round. The schedule allows you to plan a visit on both weekdays and weekends—the park welcomes guests daily from 10:00 to 21:00.

Please note that ticket sales at the box office stop 30 minutes before closing, so it is better to arrive in advance. To check the current schedule or find out about special holiday events, we recommend checking the park's official website before your trip.
