What to Do

At HARTMAN restaurant, gastronomic experiences come first. Be sure to try the famous bonito stroganina or the rich fish soup (ukha), which is served here in very generous portions. Gourmet lovers should look out for oyster promotions or order the seafood risotto. For dessert, try the strudel with unique Borodino bread flavored ice cream—this combination is sure to surprise your taste buds.

The atmosphere of the place invites long relaxation: live music is often played here, and polite waiters are always ready to help with the choice of signature infusions, such as the famous "Khrenovukha" (horseradish vodka). During the warmer months, guests prefer to take tables on the summer veranda to enjoy their meal in the fresh air under the rustle of centuries-old trees.

If you are staying at the hotel, the morning starts with a magnificent buffet breakfast, which many guests call one of the best in the city. We recommend choosing rooms with a balcony to breathe in the scent of pines and the sea in the morning, and in the evening, after a busy day, order a "chef's compliment" and simply enjoy the moment in this quiet corner of the Baltic.

Getting There

Finding HARTMAN is easy, as it is located in the heart of the resort area on Oktyabrskaya Street. If you are already in town, a pleasant walk from the central beach or the promenade to the hotel will take very little time. The famous Water Tower can serve as a landmark, from which the establishment is literally a few minutes' walk away.

For those traveling from Kaliningrad, the most convenient option is the electric train (including the comfortable "Lastochka"). The journey to Svetlogorsk-2 station takes about an hour, followed by a 10–15 minute walk. Buses and fixed-route taxis also run regularly from the regional center, stopping within walking distance of the hotel.

If you are traveling by car, follow Oktyabrskaya Street. Parking is available near the hotel, which is convenient for guests planning a long stay. You can also always use taxi services from anywhere in the city or book a transfer from Khrabrovo Airport.

History & Facts

The building that houses the hotel and restaurant today has deep historical roots. It was built in the early 20th century, with the first official mentions dating back to 1910. In those days, the establishment bore the poetic name "Waldesrand", which translates from German as "Edge of the Forest."

A new chapter in the life of this place began in 1925, when the building was purchased by Willy Hartmann, an enterprising visitor from Hamburg. It was he who transformed the former pension into a modern year-round hotel by the standards of the time. Hartmann completely renovated the interiors and opened a restaurant that quickly won the hearts of vacationers and locals alike, becoming the center of social life in Rauschen (the former name of Svetlogorsk).

The Hartmann family managed the hotel with special warmth, creating a unique atmosphere of hospitality that lasted for decades. Despite the change of eras and owners, the building managed to survive difficult times, preserving its architectural charm. In 2015, the new owners initiated a large-scale restoration, striving to meticulously restore the historical appearance and revive the traditions of quality established by Willy Hartmann.
