About

In the very heart of Voronezh lies an unusual space where the coziness of a home meets sincere care for animals. Mr. Moore Cat Cafe is a unique anti-cafe and, simultaneously, a shelter for cats in difficult life situations. Here, visitors pay only for the time spent in the company of the furry "hosts" of the establishment, which number about twenty.

This project in a country like Russia is charitable in nature: the cafe's primary goal is the socialization of former stray cats and finding them responsible owners. The interior is decorated in warm colors and complemented by soft sofas, bookshelves, and play areas. This place is perfect for those seeking quiet and emotional relaxation after a busy day.

The atmosphere at Mr. Moore is as relaxing as possible: guests can enjoy freshly ground coffee, browse through books, or play board games to the sound of soothing purrs. The establishment stands out among other time-cafe formats for its sincerity and kindness, turning every visitor into a welcome guest visiting a furry family.

What to Do

The main activity at the establishment is, of course, spending time with the cats. You can pet the furry residents, play with them using special feather teasers, or simply watch them chase each other through the maze of shelves. For those who want to especially please the pets, the cafe offers special healthy treats that the cats accept with great gratitude.

Beyond interacting with the animals, there is always plenty to do. Guests have access to an extensive collection of board games, a PS4 console for fans of virtual battles, and a cozy library. Board game nights are organized regularly on Fridays, and movie screenings and educational workshops are also held, making the place a vibrant cultural hub.

Special mention should be made of the opportunity to become the owner of one of the pets. All cats at Mr. Moore are healthy, vaccinated, and dream of a real home. You can take a closer look at a cat you like, spend time with them, and if there is a mutual connection, go through an interview with the curators to take a new friend into your family.

Getting There

Finding Mr. Moore Cat Cafe is quite easy, as it is located in the very center of the city on Nikitinskaya Street. Most tourist routes through Voronezh pass nearby, making it simple to include a visit to the furry residents in your walking itinerary.

If you plan to arrive by public transport, numerous buses and minibuses (marshrutkas) stop at the "Nikitinskaya Street" stop. From the stop, it is only about a five-minute walk to the cafe entrance. You can also use taxi services — a ride from the city's central squares will take no more than 5–10 minutes.

Drivers should keep in mind that parking on Nikitinskaya Street and adjacent areas can be difficult due to the high density of the city center. It is easier to find a spot on weekends, but on weekdays, it is better to opt for walking or public transport. From the nearest stops, the path leads through the picturesque quarters of the old city.

History & Facts

The story of this unusual place began on November 25, 2015, when the first cat anti-cafe opened in Voronezh. The project was initiated by three friends who wanted to create not just a business, but a charitable platform to help homeless animals from the "Right to Life" foundation. In its first year alone, thanks to the team's efforts, 40 cats found permanent owners and a new home.

In 2018, the establishment underwent a significant transformation. After the founders moved on, the project was purchased by Yana, one of the idea's loyal supporters, who took on the responsibility of preserving the cafe. Under her leadership, Mr. Moore Cat Cafe was transformed: the interior was updated, freshly ground natural coffee was added to the menu, and a cozy hammock was installed for both guests and cats to enjoy.

By 2025, the project reached its 10th anniversary. Over this time, it has become an important part of the city's social life, bringing together hundreds of volunteers, curators, and animal lovers. Remarkably, the establishment invests almost nothing in advertising: its popularity grows through word of mouth and touching photo reports about the lives of rehomed pets, which are regularly published on social media.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy the tranquility and get to know all the furry inhabitants, a typical visitor will need from 1 to 2 hours. This time is sufficient for a cup of tea, a few rounds of board games, and leisurely observing the animals' behavior.

If you are planning a visit with children or want to participate in one of the themed evenings, it is better to schedule about 3–4 hours. The atmosphere of the establishment encourages long periods of relaxation, so many guests prefer to spend an entire half-day here, immersed in reading books or chatting in the cozy hammock.

Working Hours

The establishment welcomes guests daily, though the schedule may vary slightly depending on the day of the week. From Monday to Thursday, the doors are open from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and on Friday and weekends, the working hours are often extended until 10:00 PM to allow visitors to enjoy their relaxation longer.

Since the cafe frequently hosts themed events or workshops, we strongly recommend verifying the current opening hours and availability by phone before your visit. Reservations are mandatory for large groups and participants of game nights.
