What to Do

The main draw for visitors is undoubtedly the championship golf course. Here, you can test your skills on 18 holes of medium to high difficulty, where natural water hazards and varying terrain make every round unique. For those looking to hone their skills, there are practice areas including a driving range, chipping green, and practice bunker.

If golf isn't your main goal, the club offers plenty of other activities. The grounds feature modern tennis courts, paddle tennis and pickleball courts, as well as a fully equipped gym. For family leisure, the 10-lane bowling center is a great spot to have fun with friends.

After an active day, it's worth visiting the clubhouse, which houses restaurants and a cozy bar. Local and international dishes are served here, and can be enjoyed on the outdoor terrace overlooking the green hills. Additionally, the local pro shop offers a wide selection of professional golf equipment and apparel.

Getting There

The most convenient way to travel to this sports complex is by car. The club is located on the A-397 highway (the road to Ronda) at kilometer 44.5, making it easily accessible for those driving from San Pedro or Marbella. The drive from Malaga International Airport (AGP) takes approximately 45–60 minutes via the AP-7 expressway.

For those who prefer public transport, you can take buses running to Benahavís. However, keep in mind that the club is about 5–10 kilometers from the nearest stop, so it is most sensible to take a taxi from the town center.

There is spacious parking for guests on the club grounds, eliminating any hassle upon arrival. Given the hilly terrain of Andalusia, renting a car remains the most comfortable and flexible option for visiting this location.

History & Facts

The history of this place is inextricably linked to the name of a world sports legend — Severiano Ballesteros. It was he who, in the late 1980s, chose this hilly site to realize his ambitious design ideas. This course became the first project of the famous golfer on the Costa del Sol and throughout Andalusia.

Construction began in 1989, and the grand opening took place in 1991. Ballesteros, a winner of numerous international titles, aimed to create not just a playground, but a space that would harmonize perfectly with the natural landscape, highlighting the beauty of the local mountains and ravines.

Interestingly, the design of each of the 18 holes took the natural terrain into account, preserving the unique "personality" of every stage of the game. Later, thanks to the club's success, modern residential complexes began to spring up around the course, turning Los Arqueros into a prestigious suburban area that still maintains its original atmosphere.

Time Needed

To truly feel the atmosphere of the country club and enjoy the game, it is recommended to set aside at least half a day for your visit. A standard round on the 18-hole championship course usually takes between 4 to 5 hours, depending on your pace and the number of players in your group.

If you plan to use additional practice areas like the driving range or putting green, or to have lunch in the restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, you should add another 1.5–2 hours to your schedule. You might also want to leave time for visiting the pro shop or playing a game of tennis.

For those visiting not for golf but for family leisure—such as a game of bowling or lunch on the terrace—2–3 hours will be enough. However, given the scenic beauty of the location, most guests prefer to spend 5 to 7 hours here, fully immersing themselves in relaxation.

Working Hours

The club's doors are open to guests daily, making it easy to plan a visit on both weekdays and weekends. The operating hours allow for the game to start with the first rays of the sun.

From Monday to Friday, the club is open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. On Saturday and Sunday, hours are slightly reduced: guests are welcome from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. It is recommended to book your tee time in advance, especially during high season, to guarantee your spot on the course.
