History & Facts

The building that houses The Pyramid Scheme today hides a fascinating history within its walls. Built in 1926, it originally served as a car dealership. One of the most unusual features of that era was displaying cars right on the roof—they were parked up there to catch the eye of passersby. To support such weight, the roof had to be made incredibly strong and reinforced.

This architectural feature served the modern concert hall well: thanks to the powerful structural supports, there are no support columns inside the room. This provides a perfect, unobstructed view of the stage from anywhere in the hall, which is a rarity for venues of this scale. However, before becoming a popular bar, the building sat derelict for a long time, suffering from mold and even facing demolition.

In 2011, the current owners saved the historic site through an extensive renovation. Since the building is located in a historic district, the restoration followed strict standards: for example, the original copper window frames were carefully restored. The project was inspired by the success of their first small pub, The Meanwhile, which lacked space for live performances.

Time Needed

Guests usually set aside 2 to 4 hours for a visit. If your goal is just to check out the interior and try a couple of signature cocktails in a relaxed setting, an hour or an hour and a half will be quite enough.

However, if you plan to catch a live concert, a DJ set, or a themed party, it’s worth reserving the whole evening. The atmosphere encourages long conversations and dancing, so time flies by here.

Working Hours

The venue opens in the afternoon and stays open until late at night, making it ideal for ending a busy day. Please note the operating hours:
