The WVU Coliseum (now known as Hope Coliseum) is a grand multi-purpose arena that has become a true architectural symbol of Morgantown. Located on the West Virginia University campus in the USA, this venue accommodates approximately 14,000 spectators and serves as the home court for the legendary Mountaineers sports teams.
The building, completed in 1970, stands out for its unique Brutalist design. Its monolithic poured-concrete roof and stark geometric forms create an imposing look reminiscent of a modern fortress. Inside, the Coliseum offers everything needed for top-level competitions, from a modern HD video board to comfortable renovated seating.
In addition to thrilling basketball games, it hosts wrestling, volleyball, and gymnastics competitions, as well as graduation ceremonies and concerts by world-class stars. Over the years, the arena has welcomed more than 8 million guests, remaining a vital cultural and sporting hub for the region.
