History & Facts

The history of this place wonderfully connects New York State with Parisian traditions. It all began after World War II, when U.S. Air Force veteran Jack Weisberg opened a local bakery and a small café, aiming to bring a touch of French charm to the rugged Adirondacks.

The family business was continued by his son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Noelle. Thanks to their active involvement in the sister-city program between Saranac Lake and Entrains-sur-Nohain, France, the café underwent a rebirth in 2010. Together with their son Christopher, they recreated the very bistro atmosphere so beloved by locals.

In 2022, management of the project passed to experienced chef Jarrad Lang and his partner Brianna Scanlon. With twenty years of experience in the region's best restaurants and an internship in France, Lang has preserved the authentic menu and classic hospitality, making the café a must-visit for gourmets.

Time Needed

To fully experience the atmosphere and cuisine, most guests need 1.5 to 2 hours. This is plenty of time to enjoy lunch or dinner at a leisurely pace, try a signature dessert, and have a cup of coffee.

If you visit on an evening with live music, you might find yourself staying longer, as the pleasant melodies invite you to relax over a glass of wine. Given the popularity of the spot and the limited number of tables, it is worth planning your visit in advance so that waiting doesn't take extra minutes away from your trip.
