About

The main feature of this venue is that all game scenarios and puzzles are developed by an in-house team, meaning you won't encounter puzzles like these anywhere else. Visitors are challenged to escape a locked space within a limited time using logic, observation, and, most importantly, seamless teamwork. This makes the complex an ideal spot for family outings, dates, or team building.

In addition to classic escape rooms, a unique space called Splatter Lanes is open here. This is a zone for creative release where you can legally "misbehave" by splashing paint using brushes, water guns, and even balls, creating your own abstract masterpieces on canvas. The combination of intellectual challenge and a vibrant emotional outlet attracts thousands of tourists every year.

What to Do

The main reason to visit Live Action Escapes is to test your wits in themed rooms. You can set off in search of the mysterious Uncle Henry’s gold or take on the role of a detective. Each room is filled with hidden clues and mechanisms, and game masters monitor the process closely, gently guiding players if they reach a dead end.

For those who want to add some bright colors (literally) to their leisure time, Splatter Lanes is a must-visit. There are no rules here: choose your favorite colors and tools to turn a blank canvas into a work of art. It’s a great way to relieve stress and have fun with friends without worrying about your clothes—participants are provided with special protective suits.

The complex is also well-prepared for group events. Up to 34 people can play simultaneously, making it a popular choice for birthdays and corporate parties. The organizers often collaborate with local restaurants, offering full service packages with catering to cap off an action-packed day of gaming.

Getting There

The complex is conveniently located in the heart of Worcester at 415 Main St (3rd floor). The building is easy to find, and there is parking available nearby, making a visit by car very convenient.

For those who prefer public transportation, WRTA bus routes 1, 5, and 7 stop right on Main St. If you are coming from Boston, you can take the MBTA Commuter Rail to Worcester Union Station, which is about a pleasant 15-minute walk from the escape rooms.

The location is also easily accessible via taxi or services like Uber and Lyft. If you are arriving by plane, Worcester Regional Airport is just a 10-minute drive away. It is recommended to arrive 15 minutes before your session for registration and a brief orientation.

History & Facts

The story of this ambitious project began in February 2016, when Michael Paquin and his daughter Amanda decided to turn their passion for puzzles into a family business. Originally located on Exchange St., Michael—who has extensive experience in property renovation—personally helped create the unique sets to revive a culture of face-to-face interaction and teamwork.

Success came quickly: in its first 15 months of operation, the complex welcomed over 10,000 visitors, including students, professional athletes, and employees from major corporations. This allowed the owners to expand the business, leasing additional space to create new game scenarios and private event areas.

By 2026, Live Action Escapes moved to a more spacious location on Main St, significantly updating its range of entertainment. The project team, which includes talented game masters and artists, continues to focus on an immersive theatrical experience, transforming once-vacant urban spaces into vibrant interactive zones for residents and visitors alike.

Time Needed

When planning a visit to Live Action Escapes, you should allow 1–1.5 hours for a standard escape room experience. This time includes an introductory briefing, the game itself (usually 45–60 minutes), and a short photo session after the quest is finished.

If you decide to complement your program with a visit to Splatter Lanes, add at least another hour for the creative process. For large groups or corporate parties planning several activities in a row, it is optimal to set aside 2–3 hours to enjoy all the complex's features without rushing.

Working Hours

The complex's schedule is primarily focused on the latter half of the week and weekends. Monday and Tuesday are usually closed. On Wednesday and Thursday, the venue is open from 2:00 PM to 7:30 PM. On Friday and Saturday, when the visitor flow is highest, the doors are open from 12:00 PM to 8:45 PM, and on Sunday from 12:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Since popular slots fill up fast, it is highly recommended to book your time in advance on the official website, as the schedule may vary slightly depending on holidays or private events.
