Current Weather

Planning a trip to La Victoria? In this section, you'll find the latest current weather data and detailed forecasts to help you perfectly plan your visit to Venezuela.

Overview

The climate of La Victoria is classified as tropical, with a clear distinction between the wet and dry seasons. The city is located at an altitude of 566 meters above sea level in the state of Aragua, which provides a more moderate and comfortable temperature range compared to the coastal regions of Venezuela. Due to its proximity to the equator, daylight hours remain virtually constant throughout the year, and sudden seasonal cold snaps are entirely absent.

The main feature of the local weather is its stability. The dry season lasts from November to April, delighting tourists with plenty of sunshine and lower humidity. The wet season, spanning from May to October, brings regular tropical showers and cloudier skies. Despite the increased rainfall during this time, the atmosphere remains very warm, typical for the northern regions of the country influenced by the Caribbean Sea.

Temperature

Temperatures in La Victoria remain consistently warm throughout the year without sharp fluctuations. Average daily highs usually range between +27°C and +28.5°C. The hottest period is from March to May, when temperatures reach their peak. During these months, the sun is particularly intense, and the lack of frequent rain in early spring contributes to the buildup of heat.

Nighttime temperatures provide pleasant relief, dropping to +18°C... +20°C. The coolest nights in this region of Venezuela occur during the "winter" months of January and February. At this time, lows can reach +18.4°C, creating ideal conditions for a comfortable night's sleep without air conditioning. Thanks to this moderate range between day and night temperatures, acclimatization in the city is quite easy.

The overall stability of the climate means there's no need to worry about sudden frosts or exhausting heatwaves. Even during the "coldest" periods, the average air temperature in La Victoria stays around +22.7°C, making the city an attractive destination at any time of year.

Precipitation

La Victoria experiences distinct seasonal rainfall typical of the Venezuelan tropics. The majority of the rain falls between May and October. October is traditionally the wettest month, with precipitation reaching 177 mm and up to 27 rainy days. During this time, showers are usually brief but very intense, often accompanied by heavy cloud cover.

In contrast, the period from November to April is characterized by minimal precipitation. The driest months are February and March, with an average of only 12 wet days each and total rainfall dropping to 46–60 mm. During these months, the city enjoys mostly clear skies and dry air, making it the most popular time for tourists.

April acts as a transitional phase: humidity begins to rise gradually, preparing the landscape for the start of the new rainy season. Interestingly, even during the driest periods, brief showers are not uncommon, but they are quickly followed by bright sunshine, ensuring your travel plans remain largely uninterrupted.

Packing Tips

For a comfortable stay in La Victoria year-round, it is recommended to choose clothing made from natural, breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen. Light colors will help you better handle the high solar activity in Venezuela. Be sure to bring high-quality sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses, even on cloudy days.

Between May and October, when the chance of rain is high, a light waterproof raincoat or a compact umbrella will be an essential accessory. Since humidity often exceeds 80% during this period, clothing should be as lightweight and quick-drying as possible. For footwear, comfortable sandals or well-ventilated sneakers are best for long walks around the city.

If you're planning evening outings or trips to nearby mountain areas, bring a thin sweater or a light windbreaker, as it can get noticeably cooler after sunset. Also, don't forget insect repellent, which is particularly useful during the wet season.
