9 de Julio Park (Parque 9 de Julio) is the main and largest urban park in San Miguel de Tucumán, a true green oasis in the eastern part of the city. Its name is a tribute to the historic date of July 9, 1816, when the Declaration of Independence of Argentina was proclaimed in this city. The park is one of the key attractions not only in the city but in the entire north of the country.

The park was designed by the famous French landscape architect Carlos Thays, who created many renowned parks across the country. The area is laid out in an elegant French style, harmoniously combining manicured lawns, graceful sculptures, fountains, and bas-reliefs. Initially, about 400 hectares were allocated for the park, making it one of the largest projects of its kind in the region.
Opened in 1916 for the centenary of independence, the park immediately became a center of attraction for residents and visitors alike. Today, it is an ideal place for leisurely walks, outdoor relaxation, and cultural leisure. Within its territory, you'll find Lake San Miguel, a picturesque rose garden, a floral clock, as well as cafes and restaurants, making it a wonderful choice for a visit at any time of day.
