Carioca Arena 3 is a modern indoor sports arena and a prominent legacy of the Olympic Games. Located in the famous Olympic Park in the Barra da Tijuca district of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, it was specifically built for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Originally designed to hold 10,000 spectators, Carioca Arena 3 hosted exciting Olympic taekwondo and fencing competitions. Additionally, it held Paralympic judo and wheelchair fencing tournaments, showcasing the venue's versatility and accessibility.
The arena did not lose its significance after the Games ended. Today, Carioca Arena 3, also known since 2022 as the Isabel Salgado Olympic Educational Gymnasium, continues to serve the community. It has been successfully transformed into a multifunctional sports and educational center, where thousands of children and teenagers have the opportunity to play sports and develop their talents, making it an essential part of the city's sporting and social life.
