The Museum of Socialist Art in Sofia is a unique cultural space and a branch of the National Art Gallery of Bulgaria. It is the country's first depository where works of Bulgarian art created between 1944 and 1989 and thematically linked to the socialist era are collected and exhibited. The museum complex consists of three main parts, each offering its own perspective on the art of that era. Of particular note is the sculpture park, spanning 7,500 square meters. Here, 77 monumental sculptures are displayed in the open air, allowing visitors to appreciate the scale and ideological direction of the art of that time.
Inside the museum building is an art gallery covering 550 square meters. Its halls exhibit about 60 paintings and 25 easel works reflecting various aspects of life and ideology during the socialist period. The exhibition is complemented by a video hall, where visitors can watch documentary films from the socialist era, providing historical context to the artworks on display.
