In the heart of the Old Bazaar, among winding streets and historical buildings, rises the Ali Pasha Mosque. This majestic monument of Ottoman architecture in the city of Ohrid is rightfully considered a gem of Balkan craftsmanship. Macedonia included this site on its list of protected state monuments as early as 1968, recognizing its high historical value.

The mosque is a classic square structure, skillfully laid out in stone and fired brick. It is crowned by an elegant dome resting on an octagonal drum, while a minaret over 32 meters high soars into the sky nearby. Today, the building serves as the residence of the Muftiate and is an important spiritual center for the local community.
Located in the historical center, which is under UNESCO protection, the Ali Pasha Mosque harmoniously fits into the surrounding landscape. Ancient hammams and market stalls have been preserved nearby, creating the unique atmosphere of an authentic Oriental quarter where time seems to slow down.
