The climate in Zibo is classified as warm and temperate (according to the Köppen classification — Cwa), with distinct seasonality. This region of China lives by the rhythm of four seasons: from a long, hot, and humid summer to a truly cold and snowy winter. Spring and autumn here pass quite quickly, offering pleasant, moderate temperatures.

Due to the city's continental location in Shandong province, weather conditions feature a significant annual temperature range. Summer months are dominated by humid and cloudy days, while the winter period is usually clearer and drier. This contrast makes Zibo's climate typical for the country's northern plains, where hot days give way to freezing nights.

The overall nature of the weather makes the city most suitable for visiting during the warm months, when conditions for walks and excursions are most comfortable. Nevertheless, each season in Zibo has its own unique charm, from snowy cityscapes to bright spring greenery.

The temperature regime in Zibo is characterized by sharp contrasts between seasons. The coldest time is January, when average minimum temperatures drop to -5.2°C, and daytime highs barely cross the freezing mark. In contrast, summer in the city is very hot. The peak of the heat occurs in July, when average maximums reach +32°C. Combined with high humidity, these temperatures can be quite difficult to handle. Spring and autumn in the city are transitional periods with moderate humidity. In April and May, rainfall gradually increases, preparing the ground for summer downpours. The total annual precipitation in Zibo is about 600–700 mm, making summer the wettest and winter the driest time of year to visit the region.

For a trip to Zibo in the summer (June–August), be sure to bring light, breathable clothing made of cotton or linen. Due to high humidity and frequent monsoon downpours, you won't get by without a reliable umbrella or raincoat.
