If you are looking for a truly secluded and wild spot, then Crocetta Beach will be a perfect discovery. This is a small, picturesque cove on the northern coast of the island of Elba, tucked away at the foot of sheer cliffs. The beach, only about 70 meters long, charms with its pristine nature and the absence of the usual tourist hustle and bustle that sometimes overflows Italy.
The shoreline here is scattered with medium and large snow-white pebbles, which contrast spectacularly with the turquoise water.
Locals often call this place Cala del Purgatorio ("Purgatory Cove"), which is linked to an ancient chapel located nearby. Despite the intimidating name, the atmosphere here is as peaceful as can be: crystal-clear water, rich marine life, and dense greenery on the hillsides create a sense of absolute harmony with nature.
