Beyond the threshold of this elegant Art Nouveau building lies a fascinating world of the past. The Museum of the History of Katowice is more than just a collection of artifacts; it is a living testament to the transformation of a modest settlement into the major industrial center that Katowice is proud of today. Housed in a historic 1908 residence, the museum invites guests on a journey through time, exploring the rich culture and traditions of the region.

In this unique location in the heart of Poland, approximately 100,000 exhibits have been gathered. Of particular value is the collection of 27 pastels by the famous artist Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, as well as authentic interior items, porcelain, and clothing that once belonged to local residents. The museum is famous for its authenticity, as most of its treasures were donated by the townspeople themselves.
The "crown jewel" of the exhibition is the reconstructed apartments of the bourgeoisie and middle class from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Walking through the furnished rooms, from spacious living rooms to cozy kitchens, visitors can literally feel the rhythm of life of a Silesian family from a century ago. This place is ideal for those who want to see history not in dry figures, but in the living details of everyday life.
