Union Square (Piața Unirii) is the magnificent heart of Timișoara, rightfully considered one of the most picturesque historical squares that Romania is proud of. It is a unique architectural ensemble where Baroque, Classicism, and Art Nouveau buildings coexist harmoniously, creating the atmosphere of old Europe.

In this spacious square, you will find an amazing neighborhood of two denominations: the Roman Catholic St. George's Cathedral and the Serbian Orthodox Church stand opposite each other. In the center of the space rises an elegant Baroque Plague Column, a reminder of the city's complex history and its resilience in the face of trials.
Today, it is the main place for meetings and strolls. The bright facades of historical buildings, cozy terraces, and cobbled streets make Union Square a must-see on the itinerary of any traveler seeking aesthetic pleasure and deep historical background.
