The cathedral was built according to the design of architect V. P. Shevelev in a characteristic Russo-Byzantine style. It is one of the tallest and largest Orthodox structures in the country: the height of the church itself reaches 85 meters, and its highest point is at 97 meters. Such impressive dimensions place the Annunciation Cathedral as the third largest Orthodox church in Russia and make it one of the tallest Orthodox churches in the world.
The Annunciation Cathedral is harmoniously integrated into the urban landscape, occupying a prominent place within the Pervomaysky Garden. Its appearance was deliberately designed to recall the lost historical cathedrals of Voronezh, thereby emphasizing the continuity of spiritual and architectural traditions. Today, it is not just a place for prayer but a significant landmark that shapes the unique character of the city.
