In the heart of Novi Sad, on the main Freedom Square, stands the magnificent Catholic Church of St. Mary (also known as the Name of Mary Church). This majestic Neo-Gothic structure, built in 1894, is an architectural landmark and the tallest church in the city. Its slender bell tower reaches a height of 72–73 meters and is visible from almost every neighborhood.

One of the temple's most striking features is its unique roof. It is clad in multi-colored hexagonal ceramic tiles made at the famous Hungarian Zsolnay manufacture. This pattern, sparkling in the sun, gives the building a festive and unusual look, making it stand out among the classical buildings for which Serbia is famous.
Inside, the church is a spacious three-nave basilica with high vaults, richly decorated with stained glass and detailed carvings. The temple is not only an important religious center for the local Catholic community but also a symbol of the city's multicultural heritage, attracting tourists with its historical significance and flawless architectural execution.
