One of the main highlights of the place is the local Palace of Culture, which houses a stunning winter garden.

Thanks to its versatility, the park has become a favorite venue for large-scale city concerts, fairs, and festivals. Regardless of the season, this spot attracts lovers of beautiful photo shoots and family holidays, remaining an important part of the city's social life and cultural fabric.

What to Do

Visitors to the park will find plenty of leisure options. Fans of quiet relaxation can spend hours wandering the picturesque paths, enjoying the fresh air and the aesthetics of the landscape design. For active residents, this spot has become a traditional location for morning jogs and outdoor sports.

Special attention should be paid to the Palace of Culture. Its winter garden makes the park attractive even in the cold season, allowing guests to briefly escape into eternal summer. If you find yourself here during the holidays, there is a high chance of catching a colorful concert or folk festivities, which are often organized in the central squares.

The proximity to the water adds a special charm to the location: on a small beach by the river, you can not only relax but also observe the local fauna — turtles and nutria are often seen here. Don't forget to bring your camera, as the abundance of greenery and architectural elements of the park provide a wonderful backdrop for inspiring photos.

Getting There

Getting to the park area is quite easy, as it is located at 54A Heroiv-Pidpilshchykiv Avenue. This is the central part of the Saksahanskyi district, which is well-integrated into the city's transport network. You can use municipal buses or trams, with routes running through this avenue.

If you prefer comfort, a taxi ride from the city center will take very little time. For those planning to arrive by private car, it is worth noting that it’s better to look for parking spaces in advance in the immediate vicinity of the entrance to the recreation area.

History & Facts

The history of this green space began in 1935. It is hard to imagine, but a market and a cattle yard once stood where the shady alleys are now. The decision to create the park was driven by the rapid development of the industrial district and the need to provide workers with a proper place for recreation.

The site received its original name in the spirit of the era, reflecting the historical context of the region's development within the Soviet Union. For a long time, the park remained the main cultural core of the district, where traditions of mass celebrations and family leisure were formed for several generations of city residents.

In 2013, the area experienced a "rebirth." After a period of decline, the city authorities carried out a large-scale reconstruction: they updated the asphalt paths, installed modern lighting, and added comfortable benches. Today, the park combines historical significance with a modern level of comfort.

Time Needed

Usually, tourists and locals need about 1 to 2 hours to leisurely walk along the main alleys and peek into the most interesting corners of the park. This is quite enough time to explore the grounds and take a short break on a bench.

If you plan to visit the Palace of Culture, have a photo session, or catch one of the city events, you should budget 2-3 hours for your visit. For those who just want to go for a quick run or a short walk, 40 minutes will suffice.

Working Hours

The park is an open public space and is accessible to visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This gives guests complete freedom: you can enjoy the sunrise during a morning workout or walk along the well-lit evening alleys before bed.

While entrance to the park area itself is free, the operating hours of the Palace of Culture and specific events may be regulated separately, so it is worth checking information in advance if you plan to visit the indoor facilities.
