The climate in Jiannan is characterized by distinct seasonality, representing a transition zone between humid subtropical and temperate continental climates. Throughout the year, travelers can experience four contrasting seasons: a dry and cool winter, a blooming spring, a hot and rainy summer, and a mild, sunny autumn in this part of China.

Precipitation in Jiannan follows a pronounced seasonal pattern. The bulk of the annual rainfall occurs from June to August, when the city is under the influence of the summer monsoons. In contrast, the winter period is considered the driest. In January and December, rainfall is minimal (ranging from 13 to 23 mm), and the sky most often remains clear. Spring brings a gradual increase in humidity: while rain is rare in March, its frequency increases significantly by May, preparing the landscape for the summer season.

When packing for a trip to Jiannan, it is important to consider the significant seasonal differences.
