In addition to its natural beauty, Ein Hemed holds a rich history. During the time of the Crusaders, this place was known by the Latin name Aqua Bella, meaning "beautiful water." To this day, impressive remains of a fortress built by the Crusaders have been preserved. This fortress was strategically located on the ancient Roman road that once connected Jerusalem with the coastal regions.
Visiting Ein Hemed National Park is a wonderful opportunity to combine a nature walk with a touch of history. Here, you can enjoy the silence, the singing of birds, and the babbling of the stream, while simultaneously imagining scenes of the past when Roman legionnaires and Crusaders passed through these lands. It is an ideal spot for family vacations, picnics, and educational excursions, offering both tranquility and food for thought.
