The climate in General Trias is typical of the tropical regions of the Philippines. A tropical monsoon climate prevails here, characterized by consistently high temperatures and significant humidity throughout the year. The primary difference between seasons is not the variation in heat, but the amount of rainfall.

The year is divided into two main periods: the dry season, which lasts from December to May, and the rainy season, spanning from June to November. The dry season is considered the most favorable time for tourists, as it offers sunny weather and a minimal chance of downpours, allowing you to fully enjoy exploring the Cavite province.

Despite the change of seasons, the average temperature in the city remains within the 26–29°C range. This stability makes the region attractive to visit at any time; however, it is worth noting that during the rainy months, especially July and August, humidity rises significantly, and the surrounding landscape takes on its most vibrant green hues.

The temperature regime in General Trias is remarkably consistent. Throughout the year, the thermometer fluctuates from +23°C during cool nights to +37°C during the sweltering daytime hours. The hottest period occurs in April and May, when the daytime heat can be quite intense, reaching its peak values before the start of the monsoon season.

For those who prefer more moderate warmth, December and January are the ideal times to visit. During these months, night temperatures drop to a comfortable 23–24°C, bringing long-awaited freshness after sunset. The daily temperature range is quite noticeable: a hot day is followed by a relatively mild evening, making it comfortable to spend time outdoors.

The proximity to Manila Bay also influences the local atmosphere. Sea water temperatures in the Philippines in this area remain very warm year-round—ranging from 27°C in January to 30°C in early summer. This makes the swimming season near the city virtually year-round, although the best time for water activities is during the dry period from December to May.

Precipitation in General Trias is distinctly seasonal. The bulk of the rain falls between June and November. July and August are traditionally considered the wettest months, with the probability of precipitation reaching 80% of the days in the month. During this time, the region is often hit by powerful tropical downpours, which are usually brief.

The dry season, lasting from December to May, offers a completely different experience. In February, March, and April, there is very little rainfall—averaging less than 50 mm per month. This period is ideal for active travel across the Philippines, as the sky remains mostly clear and the risk of getting caught in prolonged rain is minimal.

Snow is non-existent in this region due to the hot tropical climate. The main form of precipitation is rain, which during the monsoon season can be accompanied by strong gusts of wind and tropical storms. The frequency of rainy days at the peak of the season can exceed 20 days per month, whereas in the height of the dry spell, rain may only occur a few times a month.

When packing for General Trias, focus on light and natural fabrics. For the dry season, especially during the hot months of April and May, cotton clothing, shorts, and T-shirts that allow your skin to breathe are essential. Don't forget high-quality sunscreen with SPF 50+, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses—the tropical sun in the Philippines is very intense, even on cloudy days.
