The Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (Igreja Paroquial de Nossa Senhora da Assunção) is more than just a religious building; it is the spiritual heart of the town of Cascais. This majestic Mother Church is considered the most iconic and emblematic landmark of the resort, located in the sunny and welcoming country of Portugal.

The building is situated on the picturesque Largo da Assunção in the very center of the historical quarter. Its architectural appearance, finalized after reconstruction in the 18th century, is distinguished by elegant simplicity: a light facade divided by stone pilasters, crowned by a traditional red tiled roof. Two square side bell towers give the structure a harmonious and complete look, making it stand out against the city skyline.
Before entering the temple, guests are greeted by an expressive statue of Pope John Paul II, installed here in 2010. The church is a living testament to the faith and rich history of the locals, combining spiritual grandeur and architectural grace characteristic of Portuguese Baroque.
