The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima is one of the most significant Catholic pilgrimage centers in the world, located in Fátima, Portugal. This site attracts millions of believers and tourists from every corner of the globe who come here in search of spiritual solace and healing. The complex was built on the site where, according to tradition, the Virgin Mary appeared to three shepherd children in 1917.

The architectural ensemble of the Sanctuary includes several key structures. Among them are the Chapel of the Apparitions, built on the very spot where the children met the Virgin Mary, and the majestic Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary in Neo-Baroque style. In front of the basilica lies a vast square, which is larger than St. Peter's Square in Rome and can accommodate hundreds of thousands of pilgrims.
The modern Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, consecrated in 2007, deserves special attention. This monumental structure, designed by Greek architect Alexandros Tombazis, features a unique design combining Neo-Byzantine style with architectural modernism. The church, which seats nearly 9,000 people, is striking for its interior, including a massive mosaic and Bible quotes in 23 languages. Its architecture incorporates elements of Orthodox Byzantine churches, making it unusual for the Catholic world.
