The park is divided into two parts: "old" and "new." The old part, originally named Milyutin Garden, was established in the late 19th century. Its layout still carries traces of the past, including the main alley that once served as a city boulevard, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of a bygone era.
The new part of the park features a more formal layout with straight, wide avenues. In the past, the intersections of these avenues were decorated with plaster sculptures, and a fountain sat at the center of the composition, where radial paths met, framed by a circular alley. This part of the park still attracts visitors today with its spaciousness and opportunities for active recreation.
In 2022, after a major reconstruction, the park's historical name, "Salt Garden," was restored. Today, this renovated space continues to be a favorite getaway for locals, blending historical heritage with modern amenities for visitors of all ages, making it a must-visit spot in Cherepovets.
