Millennium Square is one of the most iconic and large-scale landmarks in Saransk, Russia. It is not just an open space, but an entire modern architectural complex harmoniously integrated into the urban landscape. The square was officially opened in 2012 to mark a landmark event—the 1000th anniversary of the unification of the Mordovian people with the peoples of the Russian state. Previously, the Svetotekhnika Stadium occupied this site.

The space of Millennium Square is skillfully divided into several functional zones, making it attractive for various types of leisure. There is an area for mass events and public festivities adjacent to the impressive "Star of Mordovia" fountain and the Universal Hall. Nearby is a quieter zone next to the Pushkin National Library and the Ogarev Plaza shopping center.
The square's unique paving, decorated with traditional Mordovian patterns, adds special cultural value and national flair. This makes it not only a beautiful but also a symbolic place. Over the years, Millennium Square has become a true calling card for Saransk, a popular spot for meetings, walks, and leisure for both locals and guests, reflecting the spirit and history of the Mordovian land.
