The Royal Palace of La Almudaina (Palacio Real de La Almudaina) is a majestic structure and the official summer residence of the King of Spain, located in the very heart of Palma on the picturesque island of Mallorca. The name "Almudaina" translates from Arabic as "citadel outside the city walls," reflecting its historical past. The palace stands proudly next to the famous Palma Cathedral and the green oasis of Parc de la Mar, serving as one of the city's key landmarks.

The architectural appearance of the palace is impressive in its monumentality: it is a square-shaped building surrounded by high walls that connect watchtowers. Among them, the Tower of Homage (Torre del Homenaje) stands out in particular. A unique detail of the northern facade is the Angel Tower (Torre del Angel), topped with a bronze-covered wooden sculpture of the Archangel Gabriel. This figure, created by sculptor Antoni Camprodon in 1310, not only decorates the palace but also functions as an original weather vane, indicating the wind direction.
Currently, the Royal Palace of La Almudaina continues to fulfill its representative function, serving as a venue for official ceremonies and receptions involving the Spanish royal family, especially during the summer. At the same time, a significant part of the palace, including its courtyards and certain halls, is open to the public. This gives tourists a wonderful opportunity to touch the rich history and cultural heritage of the Balearic Islands, exploring the rooms where fates were once decided and important state decisions were made.
